My previous car was a 10th-generation Accord Hybrid, and I just replaced it with a new 11th-generation Accord PHEV. I've driven 1400km in 20 days, and compared to the previous hybrid generation, here's my sharing. The sound insulation has improved significantly, it's incomparable, and the difference is obvious. The power feels enhanced; whether in pure electric mode or with low battery, the acceleration is equally linear, and there's no lag even when flooring the throttle. The 10th-generation hybrid did have some delay when flooring the throttle. The chassis is more偏向舒适, not sporty anymore; high-speed cornering doesn't inspire as much confidence as the 10th generation. Correspondingly, the vibration filtering is better, giving a more premium feel. The exterior is a matter of personal preference; it's not as domineering as the previous generation, more understated, less "ghost fire" style, and more elegant. The interior materials have visibly improved, with less plastic feel and more soft leather wrapping. Storage space has decreased, not only the trunk space is compromised, but also the front storage compartments are reduced. The infotainment system is significantly better than the previous generation; the HUD is very clear, and the map can be projected onto the instrument cluster. However, the built-in Baidu Map is not as user-friendly as Gaode Map. The regenerative braking paddles are better than the previous generation, with stronger regenerative force, and pressing the accelerator can cancel it, so they can replace the brake pedal in many cases. The pure electric range is "reverse falsely marked"; I commute 93km round trip every day, half on the highway, and still have 15% battery left when I get home at night. But the last 5% should be unavailable, reserved for hybrid mode. The fuel consumption with low battery is similar to the previous generation; with half highway driving at 120km/h cruising, it's around 5L/100km.
--Regarding slow charging
I don't really care. I don't charge it outside; it's not an electric car after all, and with 5L fuel consumption, I can't afford not to refuel.
--Regarding the trunk hump
I also don't care much. For a commuter car, the trunk only holds a car wash mop. People with urgent trunk space needs shouldn't look at this car; they should check out SUVs. Demanding trunk space from a sedan is really a bit...
Conclusion: It's still a good commuter car, and home charging with a fixed parking space is fine. But it's not a "hexagon warrior"; expecting this car to meet all needs is very unrealistic.
